So I could use a readathon right now.
I’m 8 books behind on my reading challenge as of late, which is only slightly pitiful, especially since I can feel the calendar pushing towards August and the start of my sophomore year. I’m going to be pulled into homework, AP classes, and extracurriculars.
Therefore, I feel like this is my chance to catch up. It’s now or never and I really want to achieve my goal this year.
As such, I have decided to participate in booktubeathon once again. If you’re wondering what the heck I’m blabbering about, you might want to check out this informational video about it and, if you’re interested, read the suggested prompts.
Basically booktubeathon is all about reading as much as you can in a week (July 24th – July 30th). It involves booktube videos, bookstagram photo challenges, and twitter sprints! In case you couldn’t tell, I AM VERY HYPED. You don’t have to be a booktuber, bookstagrammer, blogger, etc. to participate! I’m not a booktuber, but I still love doing it!
This is one of the most exciting events for me, every summer. So without further ado, here is my TBR.
1. Read a book with a person on the cover.
For this first challenge, I decided on Saints and Misfits by S. K. Ali. I borrowed this one from the library and can’t wait to start reading it!
2. Read a hyped book.
Always and Forever, Lara Jean was like the most hyped book in April. I bought it as soon as it came out, yet I still haven’t picked it up. Truthfully, I’m really worried that I’ll be disappointed – but alas, I miss Peter K. too much to put it off any longer.
3. Finish a book in one day.
I actually won It Started with Goodbye in a BBTC chat giveaway in May and have been meaning to pick it up! It’s apparently a loose Cinderella story, and I’m honestly a sucker for those.
4. Read about a character that is very different from you.
Seeing as I am neither male not Taiwanese, Want seems like the perfect book to pick up for this category! It’s set in a futuristic, polluted Taipei and is a Sci-Fi (so bonus points!)
5. Finish a book completely outdoors.
It’s no secret that Florida in July is hotter than the surface of the sun – not to mention the humidity and all the bugs flying around my backyard. As such, I’ve decided to choose a graphic novel for this challenge so that I can finish it as soon as humanely possible: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson. This got a lot of buzz when it first released, so I’m excited to see what all the hype is about!
6. Read a book you bought because of the cover.
Listen, I’m a pretty frugal person. I pride myself and really thinking through all most of my purchases – so I don’t ever cover buy. However Love and Gelato did catch my eye in Target two years ago because of the adorable cover, plus the blurb was pretty good – a summer adventure in Italy? *swoons onto a plate of margherita pizza*
7. Read seven books.
Seven books is a lot for one week. Even with a graphic novel thrown into the mix – so I’ve decided to listen to the One of Us is Lying audiobook, rather than actually read it! It’s about eleven hours so as long as I listen a little bit every day, it shouldn’t be difficult to blow through it. PLUS, I love a good murder mystery…
So there it is! The TBR that is totally going to kill me be great! Now it’s time to rest up this weekend so I can read my butt of next week.
Are you participating in booktubeathon? What’s on your TBR? Is it going to destroy you like mine is? Tell me in the comments! 🙂
Stay bookish,
Jordyn
Good luck with the challenge! I hope you can complete it! Always and Forever, Lara Jean was pretty good, and Nimona was super cute. I really want to read Want and Saints and Misfits ❤

Really?? I hope it’s great then! I’ve heard some people loved it and some people thought it was the worst of the trilogy so I’m anxious-excited to finally pick it up!

Great selection of books! I recently won Saints and Misfits, but had it shipped back home instead of Canada, so I am interested to hear what you think of it 😀 Good luck with the booktubeathon!

I’m doing this readathon has it happening the same time as the Biannual Bibliothon, almost all the books I’m reading for the biannual bibliothon fit the challenge criteria for BookTubeAThon. I’m borrowing a book from the library because of the cover.

I’m really excited for Booktube-A-Thon as well, especially since it will help me get back on track with my reading challenge, haha. I absolutely loved Saints and Misfits and It Started with Goodbye. Love and Gelato is another favorite. I loved that it was set in Florence, which is one of my favorite cities.

I’m so glad you loved so many of the books on my TBR. I’m feeling a little iffy about It Started with Goodbye, but hopefully I love it, too! Good luck!
